BVIC organised one day sessions on Social Entrepreneurship, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Climate change & Sustainability separately for participants at PDTC, Warangal in September, November 2016 and January 2017. The participants from diverse countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Canada, Guinea, Italy, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Spain, Ethiopia, France, Germany, Nigeria, Guinea, Sudan and Zimbabwe learnt the diverse aspects of social entrepreneurship, the characteristics of social entrepreneurs and the sectors in which they work. A total of 90 participants shared their social enterprises and challenges they face in their countries. The participants worked in groups to create their own social enterprise by identifying systematic business approaches.
They also learnt the concept of CSR, climate change, sustainable development, current trends, various challenges, funding sources and implementation models during the sessions. The participants were provided with additional practical knowledge through case studies and exercise on these subjects
The participants have expressed that it was an enriching experience for them to learn new concepts, share their knowledge and experiences with others during the sessions.
